>we have fucking vampires like DC, but they are nice chaps too and works with weapon dealings. >Liberty island is full of death v87 ward rads all over its waters, courtesy of the enclave. >you may use a boat to fast travel into other regions in NY >any NPC may die like classic fallout, you need to keep those fuckers safe or you will never leave NY >raven hair sarah is the best sarah, mainly with megaton hairs for FO3 >roosevelt island is a no man's land infested with "infected" as they become "zombies" using weapons and such, not even ghouls are safe >the enclave is using advanced robotics, but i didn't reached that part yet, but it seems that A CERTAIN NV MOD TEAM WHICH SPENT 7 FUCKING YEARS IN THE MAKING copied this subplot and went full retarded with it, here is classic fallout style. SO from what i got til now after playing again for a while They don't actually rely on the password alone for secrecy, it's just one of several things. If they don't like the person who is currently following the trail, they ghost on them or kill them or distract them or throw them off course or all kinds of other things. He was already watching you before too but they make it clear they watch the trail. Remember, Deacon knows every single step you take, because he and other agents watch the trail. It's not meant to be an all-or-nothing instant access or nothing sort of thing. Presumably, a random raider gang would have a mix of literate and illiterate people, with the literate ones probably being in leadership poisitions more often than not. So the password wouldn't keep out a whole gang, the gang would just ask around until they collected a few of its members who could read. The street level raiders, a fair portion of them seem to illiterate. It's just that a large portion of them also aren't. Plenty of people walking around even in the raider world are literate. We read the notes by Red and her sister, we read Gristle's terminal, etc. Plenty of raiders and random scavvers are literate too. And even if they wanted it, their coursers are both literate and tough enough to navigate the trail anyway. So the password is utterly irrelevant to them, they didn't need it. The toot knew where they were at all times anyway because of the watcher crows. So you're left with tough people who could navigate the trail who are also literate. The trail itself filters random DC residents, and the password filters random raiders and scavvers. It would not work against DC residents or the toot, but how many dc residents do you see wandering around the freedom trail? Because that's part of the password too: the death trap that is downtown bostin is test number 1, the password itself is only test number 2. So the RR's password would indeed work against all the random scavvers and raiders running around. The tldr is that raiders kept someone around specifically because he was literate and they weren't. We get some insight into this in the notes in the capital building. Much like in early human history, literacy was somewhat of a luxury, or for the rich. Random scavvers and raiders out in the wild are often illiterate, because they don't have the chance to sit down and put the time into learning to read. They stand around reading Piper's newspaper, and we can read it in game too and it's fine english. People with cushy lives like in DIamond City read fine. You're either a fan of videogames, or you can get fucked Fuck Fallout fans, fuck New Vegas fans, fuck any kind of fan. These people don't know what they want, and they'll just kill the franchise chasing after an imaginary endgame or rpg mechanics they don't even know exist, or a story that doesn't matter in the long run, because they'll cry about it no matter what. If you continue business as usual they'll cry about rehashes. What do these people want? They want something new, but don't you dare try to introduce anything new to a franchise. Same thing happened to Fallout after the first one, the fans felt betrayed by 2 and stuff like BoS, then they have the audacity to cry like little bitches when the series gets handed off to someone else. I remember it happening with Silent Hill 4, the storyfags were getting filtered by all the hauntings and shit, they wanted everything to be about the cult, and by the time konami finally buckled down and gave that to them it was too late, the OG jap studio moved on and the series was taken over by westerners. It happens all the time, people hate to see things evolve, they hate to see changes, they're a bunch of autistic manchildren. That's just fans in general, in an established fanbase. >There's a reason why New Vegas and 4, both games that tried something new on the story department, reviewed worse than Fallout 3, because "Fallout fans" expect to see the same shit over and over again >How to Convert Skyrim / Oblivion / NV / FO3 etc.
